☝️ Aqeedah: what we believe · Step 7 of 9
Belief in qadr (the decree)
Allah knows everything and has written it. We still choose, try our best and trust Him.
Belief in qadr means: Allah knows all things, He wrote them, nothing happens without His will, and He created everything. This does not make us lazy: we are responsible for our choices, and we do our best while trusting Allah.
A man asked: “Shall I tie my camel and trust in Allah, or leave it untied and trust in Allah?” The Prophet ﷺ said: “Tie it, and trust in Allah.”
Trusting Allah goes together with doing what we can.
“...Know that if the whole nation gathered together to benefit you with something, they would not benefit you except with what Allah had already written for you...”
This frees the heart from worry: what is meant for us will reach us.
