Questions and answers

Is it really free to learn the Qur'an here?

Yes. Every lesson, letter, dua and the prayer guide on Ilm of Islam is free, and so is progress tracking for each child. Only live one-to-one classes with a teacher are paid.

How can my child learn to read the Qur'an at home?

Start with the Arabic letters, then learn how they join, the short vowels (Fatḥah, Kasrah, Ḍammah), tanween, long vowels, sukoon and shaddah, then the basic tajweed rules. Practise 10 to 15 minutes a day: tap each card to hear it, read it aloud, and tick it when your child can read it alone.

Is this the same as the Noorani Qaida?

The lessons follow the same order as the well-known Qaidas (Noorani Qaida, Madani Qaida, Ahsanul Qawaid, Iqra and Yassarnal Qur'an), written for the web with audio and English pronunciation.

Can adults and new Muslims use it?

Yes. Every letter and word shows how to say it in English letters, and the lessons explain each rule simply, so adults and reverts can learn at their own pace.

How long does it take to learn to read the Qur'an?

It depends on age and practice. With about 15 minutes a day, many learners finish the Qaida stage in a few months. Reading fluently with tajweed takes longer and is easier with a teacher.

Is the Qur'an text accurate?

Qur'an text is never typed by hand. It is imported from the official files of the King Fahd Glorious Qur'an Printing Complex in Madinah, with recitation by Muhammad Ayyub.
