Qalqalah: the bouncing letters
Five letters bounce when they have a sukoon: ق ط ب ج د.
Remember the five letters as quṭbu jad. With a sukoon, they make a small echo or bounce. The bounce is small in the middle of a word, and bigger when you stop on the letter at the end of an ayah.
In the middle of a word
قْ with a small bounce.
جْ with a small bounce.
When stopping
Stop on ق: a clear bounce.
Stop on د: a clear bounce.
Stop on ب: a clear bounce.
