Prophet Ayyub (AS): The Most Patient Man
Ages 6–10 Story 13 of 30
Prophet Ayyub (AS) was a good and thankful man. Allah had given him a big family, plenty of animals, land and wealth, and good health. Ayyub thanked Allah for everything and helped the poor.
Then Allah tested him. Ayyub lost his wealth, and his children, and then he became very ill for a long time. Many people stayed away from him. But Ayyub never complained about Allah. He remained patient and kept remembering Him.
One day Ayyub made a gentle dua: "My Lord, harm has touched me, and You are the Most Merciful of all who show mercy." He did not demand or complain; he simply told Allah how he felt and trusted Him.
Allah answered him at once. He told Ayyub, "Strike the ground with your foot." A spring of cool water came out. Allah said, "Here is cool water to wash with and to drink." Ayyub washed and drank, and he was healed.
Allah gave him back his family and even more, as a mercy and a reminder for everyone who thinks. Allah praised him in the Qur'an: "We found him patient. What an excellent servant! He always turned to Allah."
