Belief in the angels
Angels are created from light. We cannot see them, and they always obey Allah.
“The angels were created from light, the jinn were created from smokeless fire, and Adam was created from what has been described to you (clay).”
They do as they are told
At the end of this ayah Allah describes angels who never disobey what He commands and do what they are told.
Angels we know by name
- Jibreel brought Allah's revelation to the prophets.
- Mika'il is in charge of rain and provision.
- Israfil will blow the trumpet on the Last Day.
- The angel of death takes souls at the end of life.
- The honourable recorders write down our good and bad deeds.
The recorders
Allah tells us there are noble angels over us, writing, who know what we do.
