An-Naba' النَّبَإِ

78:1 ▶ ⚑

1. عَمَّ ʿamma About what
2. يَتَسَآءَلُونَ yatasāalūna are they asking one another

78:2 ▶ ⚑

1. عَنِ ʿani About
2. ٱلنَّبَإِ l-naba-i the News
3. ٱلۡعَظِيمِ l-ʿaẓīmi the Great

78:3 ▶ ⚑

1. ٱلَّذِي alladhī (About) which
2. هُمۡ hum they
3. فِيهِ fīhi (are) concerning it
4. مُخۡتَلِفُونَ mukh'talifūna (in) disagreement

78:4 ▶ ⚑

1. كَلَّا kallā Nay
2. سَيَعۡلَمُونَ sayaʿlamūna (soon) they will know

78:5 ▶ ⚑

1. ثُمَّ thumma Then
2. كَلَّا kallā Nay
3. سَيَعۡلَمُونَ sayaʿlamūna (soon) they will know

78:6 ▶ ⚑

1. أَلَمۡ alam Have not
2. نَجۡعَلِ najʿali We made
3. ٱلۡأَرۡضَ l-arḍa the earth
4. مِهَٰدࣰا mihādan a resting place

78:7 ▶ ⚑

1. وَٱلۡجِبَالَ wal-jibāla And the mountains
2. أَوۡتَادࣰا awtādan (as) pegs

78:8 ▶ ⚑

1. وَخَلَقۡنَٰكُمۡ wakhalaqnākum And We created you
2. أَزۡوَٰجࣰا azwājan (in) pairs

78:9 ▶ ⚑

1. وَجَعَلۡنَا wajaʿalnā And We made
2. نَوۡمَكُمۡ nawmakum your sleep
3. سُبَاتࣰا subātan (for) rest

78:10 ▶ ⚑

1. وَجَعَلۡنَا wajaʿalnā And We made
2. ٱلَّيۡلَ al-layla the night
3. لِبَاسࣰا libāsan (as) covering

78:11 ▶ ⚑

1. وَجَعَلۡنَا wajaʿalnā And We made
2. ٱلنَّهَارَ l-nahāra the day
3. مَعَاشࣰا maʿāshan (for) livelihood

78:12 ▶ ⚑

1. وَبَنَيۡنَا wabanaynā And We constructed
2. فَوۡقَكُمۡ fawqakum over you
3. سَبۡعࣰا sabʿan seven
4. شِدَادࣰا shidādan strong

78:13 ▶ ⚑

1. وَجَعَلۡنَا wajaʿalnā And We placed
2. سِرَاجࣰا sirājan a lamp
3. وَهَّاجࣰا wahhājan burning

78:14 ▶ ⚑

1. وَأَنزَلۡنَا wa-anzalnā And We sent down
2. مِنَ mina from
3. ٱلۡمُعۡصِرَٰتِ l-muʿ'ṣirāti the rain clouds
4. مَآءࣰ māan water
5. ثَجَّاجࣰا thajjājan pouring abundantly

78:15 ▶ ⚑

1. لِّنُخۡرِجَ linukh'rija That We may bring forth
2. بِهِۦ bihi thereby
3. حَبࣰّا ḥabban grain
4. وَنَبَاتࣰا wanabātan and vegetation

78:16 ▶ ⚑

1. وَجَنَّٰتٍ wajannātin And gardens
2. أَلۡفَافًا alfāfan (of) thick foliage

78:17 ▶ ⚑

1. إِنَّ inna Indeed
2. يَوۡمَ yawma (the) Day
3. ٱلۡفَصۡلِ l-faṣli (of) the Judgment
4. كَانَ kāna is
5. مِيقَٰتࣰا mīqātan an appointed time

78:18 ▶ ⚑

1. يَوۡمَ yawma (The) Day
2. يُنفَخُ yunfakhu (in which) shall be blown
3. فِي fī in
4. ٱلصُّورِ l-ṣūri the trumpet
5. فَتَأۡتُونَ fatatūna and you will come forth
6. أَفۡوَاجࣰا afwājan (in) crowds

78:19 ▶ ⚑

1. وَفُتِحَتِ wafutiḥati And is opened
2. ٱلسَّمَآءُ l-samāu the heaven
3. فَكَانَتۡ fakānat and becomes
4. أَبۡوَٰبࣰا abwāban gateways

78:20 ▶ ⚑

1. وَسُيِّرَتِ wasuyyirati And are moved
2. ٱلۡجِبَالُ l-jibālu the mountains
3. فَكَانَتۡ fakānat and become
4. سَرَابًا sarāban a mirage

78:21 ▶ ⚑

1. إِنَّ inna Indeed
2. جَهَنَّمَ jahannama Hell
3. كَانَتۡ kānat is
4. مِرۡصَادࣰا mir'ṣādan lying in wait

78:22 ▶ ⚑

1. لِّلطَّٰغِينَ lilṭṭāghīna For the transgressors
2. مَـَٔابࣰا maāban a place of return

78:23 ▶ ⚑

1. لَّٰبِثِينَ lābithīna (They will) be remaining
2. فِيهَآ fīhā therein
3. أَحۡقَابࣰا aḥqāban (for) ages

78:24 ▶ ⚑

1. لَّا lā Not
2. يَذُوقُونَ yadhūqūna they will taste
3. فِيهَا fīhā therein
4. بَرۡدࣰا bardan coolness
5. وَلَا walā and not
6. شَرَابًا sharāban any drink

78:25 ▶ ⚑

1. إِلَّا illā Except
2. حَمِيمࣰا ḥamīman scalding water
3. وَغَسَّاقࣰا waghassāqan and purulence

78:26 ▶ ⚑

1. جَزَآءࣰ jazāan A recompense
2. وِفَاقًا wifāqan appropriate

78:27 ▶ ⚑

1. إِنَّهُمۡ innahum Indeed, they
2. كَانُواْ kānū were
3. لَا lā not
4. يَرۡجُونَ yarjūna expecting
5. حِسَابࣰا ḥisāban an account

78:28 ▶ ⚑

1. وَكَذَّبُواْ wakadhabū And they denied
2. بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا biāyātinā Our Signs
3. كِذَّابࣰا kidhāban (with) denial

78:29 ▶ ⚑

1. وَكُلَّ wakulla And every
2. شَيۡءٍ shayin thing
3. أَحۡصَيۡنَٰهُ aḥṣaynāhu We have enumerated it
4. كِتَٰبࣰا kitāban (in) a Book

78:30 ▶ ⚑

1. فَذُوقُواْ fadhūqū So taste
2. فَلَن falan and never
3. نَّزِيدَكُمۡ nazīdakum We will increase you
4. إِلَّا illā except
5. عَذَابًا ʿadhāban (in) punishment

78:31 ▶ ⚑

1. إِنَّ inna Indeed
2. لِلۡمُتَّقِينَ lil'muttaqīna for the righteous
3. مَفَازًا mafāzan (is) success

78:32 ▶ ⚑

1. حَدَآئِقَ ḥadāiqa Gardens
2. وَأَعۡنَٰبࣰا wa-aʿnāban and grapevines

78:33 ▶ ⚑

1. وَكَوَاعِبَ wakawāʿiba And splendid companions
2. أَتۡرَابࣰا atrāban well-matched

78:34 ▶ ⚑

1. وَكَأۡسࣰا wakasan And a cup
2. دِهَاقࣰا dihāqan full

78:35 ▶ ⚑

1. لَّا lā Not
2. يَسۡمَعُونَ yasmaʿūna they will hear
3. فِيهَا fīhā therein
4. لَغۡوࣰا laghwan any vain talk
5. وَلَا walā and not
6. كِذَّٰبࣰا kidhāban any falsehood

78:36 ▶ ⚑

1. جَزَآءࣰ jazāan (As) a reward
2. مِّن min from
3. رَّبِّكَ rabbika your Lord
4. عَطَآءً ʿaṭāan a gift
5. حِسَابࣰا ḥisāban (according to) account

78:37 ▶ ⚑

1. رَّبِّ rabbi Lord
2. ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ l-samāwāti (of) the heavens
3. وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ wal-arḍi and the earth
4. وَمَا wamā and whatever
5. بَيۡنَهُمَا baynahumā (is) between both of them
6. ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِۖ l-raḥmāni the Most Gracious
7. لَا lā not
8. يَمۡلِكُونَ yamlikūna they have power
9. مِنۡهُ min'hu from Him
10. خِطَابࣰا khiṭāban (to) address

78:38 ▶ ⚑

1. يَوۡمَ yawma (The) Day
2. يَقُومُ yaqūmu will stand
3. ٱلرُّوحُ l-rūḥu the Spirit
4. وَٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ wal-malāikatu and the Angels
5. صَفࣰّاۖ ṣaffan (in) rows
6. لَّا lā not
7. يَتَكَلَّمُونَ yatakallamūna they will speak
8. إِلَّا illā except
9. مَنۡ man (one) who
10. أَذِنَ adhina permits
11. لَهُ lahu [for] him
12. ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ l-raḥmānu the Most Gracious
13. وَقَالَ waqāla and he (will) say
14. صَوَابࣰا ṣawāban (what is) correct

78:39 ▶ ⚑

1. ذَٰلِكَ dhālika That
2. ٱلۡيَوۡمُ l-yawmu (is) the Day
3. ٱلۡحَقُّۖ l-ḥaqu the True
4. فَمَن faman So whoever
5. شَآءَ shāa wills
6. ٱتَّخَذَ ittakhadha let him take
7. إِلَىٰ ilā towards
8. رَبِّهِۦ rabbihi his Lord
9. مَـَٔابًا maāban a return

78:40 ▶ ⚑

1. إِنَّآ innā Indeed We
2. أَنذَرۡنَٰكُمۡ andharnākum [We] have warned you
3. عَذَابࣰا ʿadhāban (of) a punishment
4. قَرِيبࣰا qarīban near
5. يَوۡمَ yawma (the) Day
6. يَنظُرُ yanẓuru will see
7. ٱلۡمَرۡءُ l-maru the man
8. مَا mā what
9. قَدَّمَتۡ qaddamat have sent forth
10. يَدَاهُ yadāhu his hands
11. وَيَقُولُ wayaqūlu and will say
12. ٱلۡكَافِرُ l-kāfiru the disbeliever
13. يَٰلَيۡتَنِي yālaytanī O I wish
14. كُنتُ kuntu I were
15. تُرَٰبَۢا turāban dust
