Izhar: say the noon clearly
When a noon saakin or tanween is followed by a throat letter, the noon is said clearly with no ghunnah.
The rule
Noon saakin (نْ) and tanween (an, in, un) follow four rules, depending on the next letter. The first is izhar (making clear): before the six throat letters ء ه ع ح غ خ, pronounce the noon clearly and move straight on.
Listen
Noon saakin, then ء: clear noon.
Noon saakin, then خ: clear noon.
Tanween, then ء: clear 'n'.
