Pleased with Allah as Lord: Dua

Three times in the morning and evening.

Arabic

How to say it

ra-ḍee-tu bil-laa-hi rab-ban wa bil-is-laa-mi dee-nan wa bi-mu-ḥam-ma-din na-biy-yaa

Meaning

“I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, with Islam as my religion and with Muhammad ﷺ as my Prophet.”

When you say or hear the Prophet's name, add ﷺ: ṣal-lal-laa-hu 'a-lay-hi wa sal-lam (Allah's peace and blessings be upon him). It is not part of this dua's wording.

Our duas are being checked by teachers. The English pronunciation is a guide: learn the exact sounds by listening.

The meanings are explained in simple words for learners, not a word-for-word translation. For the full meaning of the Qur'an, read an established translation, such as Saheeh International in English or Maulana Muhammad Junagarhi in Urdu.
