Prophet 'Isa (AS): The Miracles

Ages 7–10 Story 25 of 30

Prophet 'Isa (AS) grew up and Allah sent him to the Children of Isra'il with the Injil (the Gospel). To show that he truly came from Allah, Allah gave him amazing miracles.

By Allah's permission, 'Isa shaped a bird out of clay, breathed into it, and it became a real bird and flew away. By Allah's permission, he healed people who were born blind and people with a terrible skin disease. By Allah's permission, he even brought dead people back to life. He could tell people what they had eaten and what they had stored in their homes.

'Isa always reminded people, "Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. This is the straight path." His closest helpers, called the Hawariyyun, said, "We are Allah's helpers. We believe in Allah, so be our witness that we are Muslims." Once they asked him to pray for a table of food to come down from the sky. 'Isa made dua, and Allah sent it as a sign.

Some people hated 'Isa and planned to kill him. But Allah protected him. They did not kill him, and they did not crucify him; Allah raised 'Isa up to Himself. The Prophet ﷺ told us that 'Isa will come back before the Day of Judgement (Sahih al-Bukhari 3448).

Muslims love and respect 'Isa as one of the greatest prophets. He is a servant and messenger of Allah, not God or the son of God.
