Brotherhood in Madinah
The Prophet ﷺ built the masjid and made the people of Madinah (Ansar) and the emigrants (Muhajirun) brothers.
In Madinah the Prophet ﷺ first built his masjid with his Companions, carrying bricks himself. Then he paired each emigrant from Makkah with a Muslim of Madinah as brothers. The Ansar shared their homes, food and work with the Muhajirun, who had left everything behind.
They put others first
Allah praises the Ansar: they love those who emigrated to them and put them before themselves, even when they are in need.
