The treaty of Hudaybiyyah

The Muslims went to make 'umrah, were stopped, and agreed a peace treaty that Allah called a clear victory.

In the sixth year after the Hijrah, the Prophet ﷺ and about 1,400 Companions set out for 'umrah. The Quraysh stopped them at Hudaybiyyah. The Prophet ﷺ agreed to a treaty whose terms seemed hard to the Companions: return home this year and come back next year. But the peace let Islam spread quickly, and many people became Muslim.

A clear victory

Allah calls this treaty a clear victory.
