101:1 ⚑
  1. ٱلۡقَارِعَةُ al-qāriʿatu The Striking Calamity
101:2 ⚑
  1. مَا mā What
  2. ٱلۡقَارِعَةُ l-qāriʿatu (is) the Striking Calamity
101:3 ⚑
  1. وَمَآ wamā And what
  2. أَدۡرَىٰكَ adrāka will make you know
  3. مَا mā what
  4. ٱلۡقَارِعَةُ l-qāriʿatu (is) the Striking Calamity
101:4 ⚑
  1. يَوۡمَ yawma (The) Day
  2. يَكُونُ yakūnu will be
  3. ٱلنَّاسُ l-nāsu the mankind
  4. كَٱلۡفَرَاشِ kal-farāshi like moths
  5. ٱلۡمَبۡثُوثِ l-mabthūthi scattered
101:5 ⚑
  1. وَتَكُونُ watakūnu And will be
  2. ٱلۡجِبَالُ l-jibālu the mountains
  3. كَٱلۡعِهۡنِ kal-ʿih'ni like wool
  4. ٱلۡمَنفُوشِ l-manfūshi fluffed up
101:6 ⚑
  1. فَأَمَّا fa-ammā Then as for
  2. مَن man (him) whose
  3. ثَقُلَتۡ thaqulat (are) heavy
  4. مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ mawāzīnuhu his scales
101:7 ⚑
  1. فَهُوَ fahuwa Then he
  2. فِي fī (will be) in
  3. عِيشَةࣲ ʿīshatin a life
  4. رَّاضِيَةࣲ rāḍiyatin pleasant
101:8 ⚑
  1. وَأَمَّا wa-ammā But as for
  2. مَنۡ man (him) whose
  3. خَفَّتۡ khaffat (are) light
  4. مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ mawāzīnuhu his scales
101:9 ⚑
  1. فَأُمُّهُۥ fa-ummuhu His abode
  2. هَاوِيَةࣱ hāwiyatun (will be the) Pit
101:10 ⚑
  1. وَمَآ wamā And what
  2. أَدۡرَىٰكَ adrāka will make you know
  3. مَا mā what
  4. هِيَهۡ hiyah it is
101:11 ⚑
  1. نَارٌ nārun A Fire
  2. حَامِيَةُۢ ḥāmiyatun intensely hot
