'Abasa عَبَسَ

80:1 ▶ ⚑

1. عَبَسَ ʿabasa He frowned
2. وَتَوَلَّىٰٓ watawallā and turned away

80:2 ▶ ⚑

1. أَن an Because
2. جَآءَهُ jāahu came to him
3. ٱلۡأَعۡمَىٰ l-aʿmā the blind man

80:3 ▶ ⚑

1. وَمَا wamā But what
2. يُدۡرِيكَ yud'rīka would make you know
3. لَعَلَّهُۥ laʿallahu that he might
4. يَزَّكَّىٰٓ yazzakkā purify himself

80:4 ▶ ⚑

1. أَوۡ aw Or
2. يَذَّكَّرُ yadhakkaru be reminded
3. فَتَنفَعَهُ fatanfaʿahu so would benefit him
4. ٱلذِّكۡرَىٰٓ l-dhik'rā the reminder

80:5 ▶ ⚑

1. أَمَّا ammā As for
2. مَنِ mani (him) who
3. ٱسۡتَغۡنَىٰ is'taghnā considers himself free from need

80:6 ▶ ⚑

1. فَأَنتَ fa-anta So you
2. لَهُۥ lahu to him
3. تَصَدَّىٰ taṣaddā give attention

80:7 ▶ ⚑

1. وَمَا wamā And not
2. عَلَيۡكَ ʿalayka upon you
3. أَلَّا allā that not
4. يَزَّكَّىٰ yazzakkā he purifies himself

80:8 ▶ ⚑

1. وَأَمَّا wa-ammā But as for
2. مَن man (he) who
3. جَآءَكَ jāaka came to you
4. يَسۡعَىٰ yasʿā striving

80:9 ▶ ⚑

1. وَهُوَ wahuwa While he
2. يَخۡشَىٰ yakhshā fears

80:10 ▶ ⚑

1. فَأَنتَ fa-anta But you
2. عَنۡهُ ʿanhu from him
3. تَلَهَّىٰ talahhā (are) distracted

80:11 ▶ ⚑

1. كَلَّآ kallā Nay
2. إِنَّهَا innahā Indeed, it
3. تَذۡكِرَةࣱ tadhkiratun (is) a reminder

80:12 ▶ ⚑

1. فَمَن faman So whosoever
2. شَآءَ shāa wills
3. ذَكَرَهُۥ dhakarahu may remember it

80:13 ▶ ⚑

1. فِي fī In
2. صُحُفࣲ ṣuḥufin sheets
3. مُّكَرَّمَةࣲ mukarramatin honored

80:14 ▶ ⚑

1. مَّرۡفُوعَةࣲ marfūʿatin Exalted
2. مُّطَهَّرَةِۭ muṭahharatin purified

80:15 ▶ ⚑

1. بِأَيۡدِي bi-aydī In (the) hands
2. سَفَرَةࣲ safaratin (of) scribes

80:16 ▶ ⚑

1. كِرَامِۭ kirāmin Noble
2. بَرَرَةࣲ bararatin dutiful

80:17 ▶ ⚑

1. قُتِلَ qutila Is destroyed
2. ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ l-insānu [the] man
3. مَآ mā how
4. أَكۡفَرَهُۥ akfarahu ungrateful is he

80:18 ▶ ⚑

1. مِنۡ min From
2. أَيِّ ayyi what
3. شَيۡءٍ shayin thing
4. خَلَقَهُۥ khalaqahu He created him

80:19 ▶ ⚑

1. مِن min From
2. نُّطۡفَةٍ nuṭ'fatin a semen-drop
3. خَلَقَهُۥ khalaqahu He created him
4. فَقَدَّرَهُۥ faqaddarahu then He proportioned him

80:20 ▶ ⚑

1. ثُمَّ thumma Then
2. ٱلسَّبِيلَ l-sabīla the way
3. يَسَّرَهُۥ yassarahu He made easy for him

80:21 ▶ ⚑

1. ثُمَّ thumma Then
2. أَمَاتَهُۥ amātahu He causes him to die
3. فَأَقۡبَرَهُۥ fa-aqbarahu and provides a grave for him

80:22 ▶ ⚑

1. ثُمَّ thumma Then
2. إِذَا idhā when
3. شَآءَ shāa He wills
4. أَنشَرَهُۥ ansharahu He will resurrect him

80:23 ▶ ⚑

1. كَلَّا kallā Nay
2. لَمَّا lammā Not
3. يَقۡضِ yaqḍi he has accomplished
4. مَآ mā what
5. أَمَرَهُۥ amarahu He commanded him

80:24 ▶ ⚑

1. فَلۡيَنظُرِ falyanẓuri Then let look
2. ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ l-insānu the man
3. إِلَىٰ ilā at
4. طَعَامِهِۦٓ ṭaʿāmihi his food

80:25 ▶ ⚑

1. أَنَّا annā That [We]
2. صَبَبۡنَا ṣababnā [We] poured
3. ٱلۡمَآءَ l-māa the water
4. صَبࣰّا ṣabban (in) abundance

80:26 ▶ ⚑

1. ثُمَّ thumma Then
2. شَقَقۡنَا shaqaqnā We cleaved
3. ٱلۡأَرۡضَ l-arḍa the earth
4. شَقࣰّا shaqqan splitting

80:27 ▶ ⚑

1. فَأَنۢبَتۡنَا fa-anbatnā Then We caused to grow
2. فِيهَا fīhā therein
3. حَبࣰّا ḥabban grain

80:28 ▶ ⚑

1. وَعِنَبࣰا waʿinaban And grapes
2. وَقَضۡبࣰا waqaḍban and green fodder

80:29 ▶ ⚑

1. وَزَيۡتُونࣰا wazaytūnan And olive
2. وَنَخۡلࣰا wanakhlan and date-palms

80:30 ▶ ⚑

1. وَحَدَآئِقَ waḥadāiqa And gardens
2. غُلۡبࣰا ghul'ban (of) thick foliage

80:31 ▶ ⚑

1. وَفَٰكِهَةࣰ wafākihatan And fruits
2. وَأَبࣰّا wa-abban and grass

80:32 ▶ ⚑

1. مَّتَٰعࣰا matāʿan (As) a provision
2. لَّكُمۡ lakum for you
3. وَلِأَنۡعَٰمِكُمۡ wali-anʿāmikum and for your cattle

80:33 ▶ ⚑

1. فَإِذَا fa-idhā But when
2. جَآءَتِ jāati comes
3. ٱلصَّآخَّةُ l-ṣākhatu the Deafening Blast

80:34 ▶ ⚑

1. يَوۡمَ yawma (The) Day
2. يَفِرُّ yafirru will flee
3. ٱلۡمَرۡءُ l-maru a man
4. مِنۡ min from
5. أَخِيهِ akhīhi his brother

80:35 ▶ ⚑

1. وَأُمِّهِۦ wa-ummihi And his mother
2. وَأَبِيهِ wa-abīhi and his father

80:36 ▶ ⚑

1. وَصَٰحِبَتِهِۦ waṣāḥibatihi And his wife
2. وَبَنِيهِ wabanīhi and his children

80:37 ▶ ⚑

1. لِكُلِّ likulli For every
2. ٱمۡرِيࣲٕ im'ri-in man
3. مِّنۡهُمۡ min'hum among them
4. يَوۡمَئِذࣲ yawma-idhin that Day
5. شَأۡنࣱ shanun (will be) a matter
6. يُغۡنِيهِ yugh'nīhi occupying him

80:38 ▶ ⚑

1. وُجُوهࣱ wujūhun Faces
2. يَوۡمَئِذࣲ yawma-idhin that Day
3. مُّسۡفِرَةࣱ mus'firatun (will be) bright

80:39 ▶ ⚑

1. ضَاحِكَةࣱ ḍāḥikatun Laughing
2. مُّسۡتَبۡشِرَةࣱ mus'tabshiratun rejoicing at good news

80:40 ▶ ⚑

1. وَوُجُوهࣱ wawujūhun And faces
2. يَوۡمَئِذٍ yawma-idhin that Day
3. عَلَيۡهَا ʿalayhā upon them
4. غَبَرَةࣱ ghabaratun (will be) dust

80:41 ▶ ⚑

1. تَرۡهَقُهَا tarhaquhā Will cover them
2. قَتَرَةٌ qataratun darkness

80:42 ▶ ⚑

1. أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ ulāika Those
2. هُمُ humu [they]
3. ٱلۡكَفَرَةُ l-kafaratu (are) the disbelievers
4. ٱلۡفَجَرَةُ l-fajaratu the wicked ones
