At-Takweer التَّكۡوِيرِ

81:1 ▶ ⚑

1. إِذَا idhā When
2. ٱلشَّمۡسُ l-shamsu the sun
3. كُوِّرَتۡ kuwwirat is wrapped up

81:2 ▶ ⚑

1. وَإِذَا wa-idhā And when
2. ٱلنُّجُومُ l-nujūmu the stars
3. ٱنكَدَرَتۡ inkadarat fall, losing their luster

81:3 ▶ ⚑

1. وَإِذَا wa-idhā And when
2. ٱلۡجِبَالُ l-jibālu the mountains
3. سُيِّرَتۡ suyyirat are moved away

81:4 ▶ ⚑

1. وَإِذَا wa-idhā And when
2. ٱلۡعِشَارُ l-ʿishāru the full-term she-camels
3. عُطِّلَتۡ ʿuṭṭilat (are) left untended

81:5 ▶ ⚑

1. وَإِذَا wa-idhā And when
2. ٱلۡوُحُوشُ l-wuḥūshu the wild beasts
3. حُشِرَتۡ ḥushirat are gathered

81:6 ▶ ⚑

1. وَإِذَا wa-idhā And when
2. ٱلۡبِحَارُ l-biḥāru the seas
3. سُجِّرَتۡ sujjirat are made to overflow

81:7 ▶ ⚑

1. وَإِذَا wa-idhā And when
2. ٱلنُّفُوسُ l-nufūsu the souls
3. زُوِّجَتۡ zuwwijat are paired

81:8 ▶ ⚑

1. وَإِذَا wa-idhā And when
2. ٱلۡمَوۡءُۥدَةُ l-mawūdatu the female infant buried alive
3. سُئِلَتۡ su-ilat is asked

81:9 ▶ ⚑

1. بِأَيِّ bi-ayyi For what
2. ذَنۢبࣲ dhanbin sin
3. قُتِلَتۡ qutilat she was killed

81:10 ▶ ⚑

1. وَإِذَا wa-idhā And when
2. ٱلصُّحُفُ l-ṣuḥufu the pages
3. نُشِرَتۡ nushirat are laid open

81:11 ▶ ⚑

1. وَإِذَا wa-idhā And when
2. ٱلسَّمَآءُ l-samāu the sky
3. كُشِطَتۡ kushiṭat is stripped away

81:12 ▶ ⚑

1. وَإِذَا wa-idhā And when
2. ٱلۡجَحِيمُ l-jaḥīmu the Hellfire
3. سُعِّرَتۡ suʿʿirat is set ablaze

81:13 ▶ ⚑

1. وَإِذَا wa-idhā And when
2. ٱلۡجَنَّةُ l-janatu Paradise
3. أُزۡلِفَتۡ uz'lifat is brought near

81:14 ▶ ⚑

1. عَلِمَتۡ ʿalimat Will know
2. نَفۡسࣱ nafsun a soul
3. مَّآ mā what
4. أَحۡضَرَتۡ aḥḍarat it has brought

81:15 ▶ ⚑

1. فَلَآ falā But nay
2. أُقۡسِمُ uq'simu I swear
3. بِٱلۡخُنَّسِ bil-khunasi by the retreating planets

81:16 ▶ ⚑

1. ٱلۡجَوَارِ al-jawāri Those that run
2. ٱلۡكُنَّسِ l-kunasi (and) disappear

81:17 ▶ ⚑

1. وَٱلَّيۡلِ wa-al-layli And the night
2. إِذَا idhā when
3. عَسۡعَسَ ʿasʿasa it departs

81:18 ▶ ⚑

1. وَٱلصُّبۡحِ wal-ṣub'ḥi And the dawn
2. إِذَا idhā when
3. تَنَفَّسَ tanaffasa it breathes

81:19 ▶ ⚑

1. إِنَّهُۥ innahu Indeed, it
2. لَقَوۡلُ laqawlu (is) surely a word
3. رَسُولࣲ rasūlin (of) a Messenger
4. كَرِيمࣲ karīmin noble

81:20 ▶ ⚑

1. ذِي dhī Possessor of
2. قُوَّةٍ quwwatin power
3. عِندَ ʿinda with
4. ذِي dhī (the) Owner of
5. ٱلۡعَرۡشِ l-ʿarshi the Throne
6. مَكِينࣲ makīnin secure

81:21 ▶ ⚑

1. مُّطَاعࣲ muṭāʿin One to be obeyed
2. ثَمَّ thamma and
3. أَمِينࣲ amīnin trustworthy

81:22 ▶ ⚑

1. وَمَا wamā And not
2. صَاحِبُكُم ṣāḥibukum (is) your companion
3. بِمَجۡنُونࣲ bimajnūnin mad

81:23 ▶ ⚑

1. وَلَقَدۡ walaqad And certainly
2. رَءَاهُ raāhu he saw him
3. بِٱلۡأُفُقِ bil-ufuqi in the horizon
4. ٱلۡمُبِينِ l-mubīni the clear

81:24 ▶ ⚑

1. وَمَا wamā And not
2. هُوَ huwa he (is)
3. عَلَى ʿalā on
4. ٱلۡغَيۡبِ l-ghaybi the unseen
5. بِضَنِينࣲ biḍanīnin a withholder

81:25 ▶ ⚑

1. وَمَا wamā And not
2. هُوَ huwa it
3. بِقَوۡلِ biqawli (is the) word
4. شَيۡطَٰنࣲ shayṭānin (of) Shaitaan
5. رَّجِيمࣲ rajīmin accursed

81:26 ▶ ⚑

1. فَأَيۡنَ fa-ayna So where
2. تَذۡهَبُونَ tadhhabūna are you going

81:27 ▶ ⚑

1. إِنۡ in Not
2. هُوَ huwa it
3. إِلَّا illā (is) except
4. ذِكۡرࣱ dhik'run a reminder
5. لِّلۡعَٰلَمِينَ lil'ʿālamīna to the worlds

81:28 ▶ ⚑

1. لِمَن liman For whoever
2. شَآءَ shāa wills
3. مِنكُمۡ minkum among you
4. أَن an to
5. يَسۡتَقِيمَ yastaqīma take a straight way

81:29 ▶ ⚑

1. وَمَا wamā And not
2. تَشَآءُونَ tashāūna you will
3. إِلَّآ illā except
4. أَن an that
5. يَشَآءَ yashāa wills
6. ٱللَّهُ l-lahu Allah
7. رَبُّ rabbu Lord
8. ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ l-ʿālamīna (of) the worlds
