84:1 ⚑
  1. إِذَا idhā When
  2. ٱلسَّمَآءُ l-samāu the sky
  3. ٱنشَقَّتۡ inshaqqat is split asunder
84:2 ⚑
  1. وَأَذِنَتۡ wa-adhinat And has listened
  2. لِرَبِّهَا lirabbihā to its Lord
  3. وَحُقَّتۡ waḥuqqat and was obligated
84:3 ⚑
  1. وَإِذَا wa-idhā And when
  2. ٱلۡأَرۡضُ l-arḍu the earth
  3. مُدَّتۡ muddat is spread
84:4 ⚑
  1. وَأَلۡقَتۡ wa-alqat And has cast out
  2. مَا mā what
  3. فِيهَا fīhā (is) in it
  4. وَتَخَلَّتۡ watakhallat and becomes empty
84:5 ⚑
  1. وَأَذِنَتۡ wa-adhinat And has listened
  2. لِرَبِّهَا lirabbihā to its Lord
  3. وَحُقَّتۡ waḥuqqat and was obligated
84:6 ⚑
  1. يَٰٓأَيُّهَا yāayyuhā O
  2. ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ l-insānu mankind
  3. إِنَّكَ innaka Indeed, you
  4. كَادِحٌ kādiḥun (are) laboring
  5. إِلَىٰ ilā to
  6. رَبِّكَ rabbika your Lord
  7. كَدۡحࣰا kadḥan (with) exertion
  8. فَمُلَٰقِيهِ famulāqīhi and you (will) meet Him
84:7 ⚑
  1. فَأَمَّا fa-ammā Then as for
  2. مَنۡ man (him) who
  3. أُوتِيَ ūtiya is given
  4. كِتَٰبَهُۥ kitābahu his record
  5. بِيَمِينِهِۦ biyamīnihi in his right (hand)
84:8 ⚑
  1. فَسَوۡفَ fasawfa Then soon
  2. يُحَاسَبُ yuḥāsabu his account will be taken
  3. حِسَابࣰا ḥisāban an account
  4. يَسِيرࣰا yasīran easy
84:9 ⚑
  1. وَيَنقَلِبُ wayanqalibu And he will return
  2. إِلَىٰٓ ilā to
  3. أَهۡلِهِۦ ahlihi his people
  4. مَسۡرُورࣰا masrūran happily
84:10 ⚑
  1. وَأَمَّا wa-ammā But as for
  2. مَنۡ man (him) who
  3. أُوتِيَ ūtiya is given
  4. كِتَٰبَهُۥ kitābahu his record
  5. وَرَآءَ warāa behind
  6. ظَهۡرِهِۦ ẓahrihi his back
84:11 ⚑
  1. فَسَوۡفَ fasawfa Then soon
  2. يَدۡعُواْ yadʿū he will call
  3. ثُبُورࣰا thubūran (for) destruction
84:12 ⚑
  1. وَيَصۡلَىٰ wayaṣlā And he will burn
  2. سَعِيرًا saʿīran (in) a Blaze
84:13 ⚑
  1. إِنَّهُۥ innahu Indeed, he
  2. كَانَ kāna had been
  3. فِيٓ fī among
  4. أَهۡلِهِۦ ahlihi his people
  5. مَسۡرُورًا masrūran happy
84:14 ⚑
  1. إِنَّهُۥ innahu Indeed, he
  2. ظَنَّ ẓanna (had) thought
  3. أَن an that
  4. لَّن lan never
  5. يَحُورَ yaḥūra he would return
84:15 ⚑
  1. بَلَىٰٓۚ balā Yes
  2. إِنَّ inna Indeed
  3. رَبَّهُۥ rabbahu his Lord
  4. كَانَ kāna was
  5. بِهِۦ bihi of him
  6. بَصِيرࣰا baṣīran All-Seer
84:16 ⚑
  1. فَلَآ falā But nay
  2. أُقۡسِمُ uq'simu I swear
  3. بِٱلشَّفَقِ bil-shafaqi by the twilight glow
84:17 ⚑
  1. وَٱلَّيۡلِ wa-al-layli And the night
  2. وَمَا wamā and what
  3. وَسَقَ wasaqa it envelops
84:18 ⚑
  1. وَٱلۡقَمَرِ wal-qamari And the moon
  2. إِذَا idhā when
  3. ٱتَّسَقَ ittasaqa it becomes full
84:19 ⚑
  1. لَتَرۡكَبُنَّ latarkabunna You will surely embark
  2. طَبَقًا ṭabaqan (to) stage
  3. عَن ʿan from
  4. طَبَقࣲ ṭabaqin stage
84:20 ⚑
  1. فَمَا famā So what
  2. لَهُمۡ lahum (is) for them
  3. لَا lā not
  4. يُؤۡمِنُونَ yu'minūna they believe
84:21 ⚑
  1. وَإِذَا wa-idhā And when
  2. قُرِئَ quri-a is recited
  3. عَلَيۡهِمُ ʿalayhimu to them
  4. ٱلۡقُرۡءَانُ l-qur'ānu the Quran
  5. لَا lā not
  6. يَسۡجُدُونَۤ۩ yasjudūna they prostrate
84:22 ⚑
  1. بَلِ bali Nay
  2. ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna Those who
  3. كَفَرُواْ kafarū disbelieved
  4. يُكَذِّبُونَ yukadhibūna deny
84:23 ⚑
  1. وَٱللَّهُ wal-lahu And Allah
  2. أَعۡلَمُ aʿlamu (is) most knowing
  3. بِمَا bimā of what
  4. يُوعُونَ yūʿūna they keep within themselves
84:24 ⚑
  1. فَبَشِّرۡهُم fabashir'hum so give them tidings
  2. بِعَذَابٍ biʿadhābin of a punishment
  3. أَلِيمٍ alīmin painful
84:25 ⚑
  1. إِلَّا illā Except
  2. ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna those who
  3. ءَامَنُواْ āmanū believe
  4. وَعَمِلُواْ waʿamilū and do
  5. ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ l-ṣāliḥāti righteous deeds
  6. لَهُمۡ lahum For them
  7. أَجۡرٌ ajrun (is) a reward
  8. غَيۡرُ ghayru never
  9. مَمۡنُونِۭ mamnūnin ending
