85:1 ⚑
  1. وَٱلسَّمَآءِ wal-samāi By the sky
  2. ذَاتِ dhāti containing
  3. ٱلۡبُرُوجِ l-burūji the constellations
85:2 ⚑
  1. وَٱلۡيَوۡمِ wal-yawmi And the Day
  2. ٱلۡمَوۡعُودِ l-mawʿūdi Promised
85:3 ⚑
  1. وَشَاهِدࣲ washāhidin And (the) witness
  2. وَمَشۡهُودࣲ wamashhūdin and what is witnessed
85:4 ⚑
  1. قُتِلَ qutila Destroyed were
  2. أَصۡحَٰبُ aṣḥābu (the) companions
  3. ٱلۡأُخۡدُودِ l-ukh'dūdi (of) the pit
85:5 ⚑
  1. ٱلنَّارِ al-nāri (Of) the fire
  2. ذَاتِ dhāti full
  3. ٱلۡوَقُودِ l-waqūdi (of) the fuel
85:6 ⚑
  1. إِذۡ idh When
  2. هُمۡ hum they
  3. عَلَيۡهَا ʿalayhā by it
  4. قُعُودࣱ quʿūdun (were) sitting
85:7 ⚑
  1. وَهُمۡ wahum And they
  2. عَلَىٰ ʿalā over
  3. مَا mā what
  4. يَفۡعَلُونَ yafʿalūna they were doing
  5. بِٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ bil-mu'minīna to the believers
  6. شُهُودࣱ shuhūdun witnesses
85:8 ⚑
  1. وَمَا wamā And not
  2. نَقَمُواْ naqamū they resented
  3. مِنۡهُمۡ min'hum [of] them
  4. إِلَّآ illā except
  5. أَن an that
  6. يُؤۡمِنُواْ yu'minū they believed
  7. بِٱللَّهِ bil-lahi in Allah
  8. ٱلۡعَزِيزِ l-ʿazīzi the All-Mighty
  9. ٱلۡحَمِيدِ l-ḥamīdi the Praiseworthy
85:9 ⚑
  1. ٱلَّذِي alladhī The One Who
  2. لَهُۥ lahu for Him
  3. مُلۡكُ mul'ku (is) the dominion
  4. ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ l-samāwāti (of) the heavens
  5. وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ wal-arḍi and the earth
  6. وَٱللَّهُ wal-lahu and Allah
  7. عَلَىٰ ʿalā on
  8. كُلِّ kulli every
  9. شَيۡءࣲ shayin thing
  10. شَهِيدٌ shahīdun (is) a Witness
85:10 ⚑
  1. إِنَّ inna Indeed
  2. ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna those who
  3. فَتَنُواْ fatanū persecuted
  4. ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ l-mu'minīna the believing men
  5. وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَٰتِ wal-mu'mināti and the believing women
  6. ثُمَّ thumma then
  7. لَمۡ lam not
  8. يَتُوبُواْ yatūbū they repented
  9. فَلَهُمۡ falahum then for them
  10. عَذَابُ ʿadhābu (is the) punishment
  11. جَهَنَّمَ jahannama (of) Hell
  12. وَلَهُمۡ walahum and for them
  13. عَذَابُ ʿadhābu (is the) punishment
  14. ٱلۡحَرِيقِ l-ḥarīqi (of) the Burning Fire
85:11 ⚑
  1. إِنَّ inna Indeed
  2. ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna those who
  3. ءَامَنُواْ āmanū believe
  4. وَعَمِلُواْ waʿamilū and do
  5. ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ l-ṣāliḥāti the righteous deeds
  6. لَهُمۡ lahum for them
  7. جَنَّٰتࣱ jannātun (will be) Gardens
  8. تَجۡرِي tajrī flow
  9. مِن min from
  10. تَحۡتِهَا taḥtihā underneath it
  11. ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُۚ l-anhāru the rivers
  12. ذَٰلِكَ dhālika That
  13. ٱلۡفَوۡزُ l-fawzu (is) the success
  14. ٱلۡكَبِيرُ l-kabīru the great
85:12 ⚑
  1. إِنَّ inna Indeed
  2. بَطۡشَ baṭsha (the) Grip
  3. رَبِّكَ rabbika (of) your Lord
  4. لَشَدِيدٌ lashadīdun (is) surely strong
85:13 ⚑
  1. إِنَّهُۥ innahu Indeed He
  2. هُوَ huwa He
  3. يُبۡدِئُ yub'di-u originates
  4. وَيُعِيدُ wayuʿīdu and repeats
85:14 ⚑
  1. وَهُوَ wahuwa And He
  2. ٱلۡغَفُورُ l-ghafūru (is) the Oft-Forgiving
  3. ٱلۡوَدُودُ l-wadūdu the Most Loving
85:15 ⚑
  1. ذُو dhū Owner (of)
  2. ٱلۡعَرۡشِ l-ʿarshi the Throne
  3. ٱلۡمَجِيدُ l-majīdu the Glorious
85:16 ⚑
  1. فَعَّالࣱ faʿʿālun Doer
  2. لِّمَا limā of what
  3. يُرِيدُ yurīdu He intends
85:17 ⚑
  1. هَلۡ hal Has
  2. أَتَىٰكَ atāka come to you
  3. حَدِيثُ ḥadīthu (the) story
  4. ٱلۡجُنُودِ l-junūdi (of) the hosts
85:18 ⚑
  1. فِرۡعَوۡنَ fir'ʿawna Firaun
  2. وَثَمُودَ wathamūda and Thamud
85:19 ⚑
  1. بَلِ bali Nay
  2. ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna Those who
  3. كَفَرُواْ kafarū disbelieve
  4. فِي fī (are) in
  5. تَكۡذِيبࣲ takdhībin denial
85:20 ⚑
  1. وَٱللَّهُ wal-lahu But Allah
  2. مِن min from
  3. وَرَآئِهِم warāihim behind them
  4. مُّحِيطُۢ muḥīṭun encompasses
85:21 ⚑
  1. بَلۡ bal Nay
  2. هُوَ huwa It
  3. قُرۡءَانࣱ qur'ānun (is) a Quran
  4. مَّجِيدࣱ majīdun Glorious
85:22 ⚑
  1. فِي fī In
  2. لَوۡحࣲ lawḥin a Tablet
  3. مَّحۡفُوظِۭ maḥfūẓin Guarded
