91:1 ⚑
  1. وَٱلشَّمۡسِ wal-shamsi By the sun
  2. وَضُحَىٰهَا waḍuḥāhā and its brightness
91:2 ⚑
  1. وَٱلۡقَمَرِ wal-qamari And the moon
  2. إِذَا idhā when
  3. تَلَىٰهَا talāhā it follows it
91:3 ⚑
  1. وَٱلنَّهَارِ wal-nahāri And the day
  2. إِذَا idhā when
  3. جَلَّىٰهَا jallāhā it displays it
91:4 ⚑
  1. وَٱلَّيۡلِ wa-al-layli And the night
  2. إِذَا idhā when
  3. يَغۡشَىٰهَا yaghshāhā it covers it
91:5 ⚑
  1. وَٱلسَّمَآءِ wal-samāi And the heaven
  2. وَمَا wamā and (He) Who
  3. بَنَىٰهَا banāhā constructed it
91:6 ⚑
  1. وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ wal-arḍi And the earth
  2. وَمَا wamā and by (He) Who
  3. طَحَىٰهَا ṭaḥāhā spread it
91:7 ⚑
  1. وَنَفۡسࣲ wanafsin And (the) soul
  2. وَمَا wamā and (He) Who
  3. سَوَّىٰهَا sawwāhā proportioned it
91:8 ⚑
  1. فَأَلۡهَمَهَا fa-alhamahā And He inspired it
  2. فُجُورَهَا fujūrahā (to distinguish) its wickedness
  3. وَتَقۡوَىٰهَا wataqwāhā and its righteousness
91:9 ⚑
  1. قَدۡ qad Indeed
  2. أَفۡلَحَ aflaḥa he succeeds
  3. مَن man who
  4. زَكَّىٰهَا zakkāhā purifies it
91:10 ⚑
  1. وَقَدۡ waqad And indeed
  2. خَابَ khāba he fails
  3. مَن man who
  4. دَسَّىٰهَا dassāhā buries it
91:11 ⚑
  1. كَذَّبَتۡ kadhabat Denied
  2. ثَمُودُ thamūdu Thamud
  3. بِطَغۡوَىٰهَآ biṭaghwāhā by their transgression
91:12 ⚑
  1. إِذِ idhi When
  2. ٱنۢبَعَثَ inbaʿatha (was) sent forth
  3. أَشۡقَىٰهَا ashqāhā (the) most wicked of them
91:13 ⚑
  1. فَقَالَ faqāla But said
  2. لَهُمۡ lahum to them
  3. رَسُولُ rasūlu (the) Messenger
  4. ٱللَّهِ l-lahi (of) Allah
  5. نَاقَةَ nāqata (It is the) she-camel
  6. ٱللَّهِ l-lahi (of) Allah
  7. وَسُقۡيَٰهَا wasuq'yāhā and her drink
91:14 ⚑
  1. فَكَذَّبُوهُ fakadhabūhu But they denied him
  2. فَعَقَرُوهَا faʿaqarūhā and they hamstrung her
  3. فَدَمۡدَمَ fadamdama So destroyed
  4. عَلَيۡهِمۡ ʿalayhim them
  5. رَبُّهُم rabbuhum their Lord
  6. بِذَنۢبِهِمۡ bidhanbihim for their sin
  7. فَسَوَّىٰهَا fasawwāhā and leveled them
91:15 ⚑
  1. وَلَا walā And not
  2. يَخَافُ yakhāfu He fears
  3. عُقۡبَٰهَا ʿuq'bāhā its consequences
