Five letters that bounce
Qalqalah means 'shaking'. The letters ق ط ب ج د (remember them as قُطْبُ جَدٍّ) are so strong that, when they have sukoon, the sound gives a small echo or bounce instead of stopping dead.
The bounce is bigger when you stop at the end of a word, and smaller in the middle of a word.
